I Socialised, They Spiralled: A Weekend Post-Mortem

Last weekend was fun and I was PREPARED for the amount of socialising that I needed to enjoy and survive it in one piece. What I wasn’t expecting was the immediate dead-battery crash the moment I landed home, snuggling underneath the duvet and scrolling past my Thread feed bleary eyed and utterly exhausted.

I had zero energy to do anything else. That’s two whole days or a whole weekend of me not touching a single page from the book I’m reading. However, I did make an effort to spend a little time with each of my four cats so that they know their hooman is fine, just a little tired, and loves them still. And remembers to feed them treats of course.

However, having check on them all, I noticed strange things about them. Let’s start with Jimin, my biggest and laziest cat. He’s got a runny nose and frequently have these tiny sneezes. And he looks absolutely miserable although he does look like it by default. But this time, it’s too plain and obvious that he’s not well. So, one vet appointment tomorrow coming right up!

Then we have my eldest cat of two years, Nana, who’s entire face and head puffed up and looking red. I checked her all over for any signs of bite marks from bugs or the other cats, but I couldn’t seem to find any. I went around the house trying to find any bugs that could have caused the inflammation too but na-da! I can only assume that she was play-fighting too rough with the boys and they got overwhelmed (she may be the smallest, but she can be feisty), thus, scratch or bit her off them. Another one due for a vet visit tomorrow.

On a more POSITIVE side, the newest member of the family, Kopi who is only over a month old is up and RUNNING already! I have only ever seen him crawl around our home, sticking to the shadows of furniture and cat scratching boards. This time, he ran up to me and gave the biggest meows of complaints I’ve heard! He’s growing up so fast already.

So we might be a bit puffy, a little sniffly, and dangerously zoomy, but at least we’re all in this together. With that, wish us luck—we’re going to need a lot of treats (and maybe a very long nap) to get through this week.
