Unhauling Books: Creating Space for Favorites

At the time that I am writing this post, my TBR book pile stands at a proud and remarkable height of 81 cm, leaning and swaying precariously on my plain grey wall. Adjacent to this is a growing new stack of newly bought books also on its way to make the next Twin Tower of Books. While it serves as a great view for me to rest my eyes while doing work on my computer, my husband’s thoughts veer more towards it potentially causing a book-quake hazard if one of us (me) goes on a game rage, shaking the table and the books with it. If not that, then the fact that this monument sits a little too unstable-y beside where my head would be when I sleep is a good reason enough to rethink about my book situation.

After spending some time to think about it, I came to a solution (thank you, BookTube): unhauling and selling off books I don’t want to keep.

I care very much about the books in my collection. It’s not just because they’re mostly all newly bought, fresh from the bookstores, but also because here and I’m sure everywhere else too, books are generally very expensive. Plus, some of them have amazingly good quality covers that look good on a shelf (if I have one). However, times call for desperate measures and I chose my first 5 books to let go:

I didn’t make any specific criteria of books eligible to be given away. As long as they:

My vision is to have shelves of books of only my absolute fave books. With this, I hope I can have them sold to new homes where they would better appreciated than here and also so that I would have extra financial means to buy more. Ho! Ho!
